Dearest Summer Vacations (SV),
I hope this letter finds you in good health. (Okay, this was a lot of personification, right? So let's jump to the main purpose)
I have a confession to make.
And it's on behalf of all my fellow mates as well. Here it goes.
I wonder whether anyone has confessed it or not but I should tell you SV that you're thebestest thing that has ever happened to us and I'm writing this only because:
WE ARE IN LOVE WITH YOU.
And while saying best- I mean it to the core.
I swear to you SV, you've always been kept ahead of 'teacher hasn't come today'or 'let's bunk' or 'birthday treat!' or any of those little pleasures of a student's life. Well of course because you're not little a pleasure, you're the king of pleasures, you're the ultimate euphoria!
You've always been the 'first' and come what may you'll remain the love of our lives forever.
Whether it's meeting the nastiest as well as loveliest of our cousins, or clicking photographs on hills or beaches, sporting around in water parks, enjoying home made food (this one's for you hostelers), the Facebook check-ins at Starbucks (I HAD to mention this. I JUST HAD TO. Every second person had been there this vacation, every damn day. Aahh.....I can smell the aroma!), meeting mama, mami, chacha, tauji, bhaiya, bhabhi, yadda, yadda, yadda (the great Indian Family), trying out new dishes at home only to end up making a mess in the kitchen instead of the dish, lying on the bed listening songs, reading novels (the sheer pleasure of reading a great work of literature!), watching countless movies or yet another TV series (thanks to Torrentz) , or just lazying around in our homes and trying to make a new sleeping self-record, and yes PIZZA, PIZZA and more PIZZA- we've done it all. All because of you.
And now you're leaving. (the nostalgia!)
Seriously SV, is there any chance of you being around two times a year? Just two?
So what's ahead?
Drudgery for another year!
Yet again we'll be working hard (and even procrastinating) to achieve the ultimate aim of our life-- to make our lives up! (food for thought it is!)
Nonetheless, we'll miss you SV. You surely are the best gift the Britishers absent-mindedly left for us! We love you so much. Albeit we complained of getting bored sometimes but...... that's.....that's just.......I .........I guess......we must have been delirious from having so much fun! (total agreement, Calvin, total agreement)
Goodbye SV, until we meet again!
Forever yours,
Sonali Karhana
(& all the other desolate students)
PS :"Vacations are almost over. It was quick. There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want." (I've read a lot of Calvin and Hobbes these days. I always wonder how he understands me so well!)
